Matthew McQueen is a Research Assistant at The Kids Research Institute Australia and a PhD candidate at The University of Western Australia. His work focuses on two key areas: masculinity and child development in neurodivergent populations.
At the Institute, in the Human Development and Community Wellbeing team, Matthew contributes to research examining the intersection of masculinity and gambling behaviours, and their influence on men’s wellbeing. Matthew’s doctoral research investigates how movement skills impact social development in autistic and dyspraxic children.
Matthew brings knowledge and skills in developmental psychology, community-based research, and mixed-methods approaches, with a strong focus on inclusive and family-centred research practices.
