Abhishek Rasal is a Research Assistant at The Kids Research Institute Australia, contributing to national research infrastructure initiatives that support ethical and equitable use of data in health and social research.

Abhishek currently works on Activity 3.5 of the Social Science Research Infrastructure Network (SSRIN), which focuses on the development of Indigenous-led guidelines for the use of government administrative data relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. His work supports the design, synthesis, and refinement of guidance materials that help researchers and institutions use Indigenous data in culturally appropriate, respectful, and methodologically sound ways.

Through this role, Abhishek collaborates with academic researchers, government data custodians, and Indigenous data governance experts, contributing to landscape reviews, framework mapping, and guideline development aligned with national Indigenous Data Governance principles. His work aims to strengthen researcher capability while supporting trust, transparency, and accountability in the use of linked administrative data.

Abhishek has completed a Master of Public Health at the University of Western Australia and holds a medical degree. His research interests include Indigenous Data Governance, health equity, administrative data, and research ethics, with a focus on translating policy and governance frameworks into practical guidance for researchers and data users.
